Secrets of Restaurants Salads that Simply Destroy your Diet:

March 05, 2010 By: Heiley G. Category: Diet Secrets, Weight watcher`s lifestyle

If you’re trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, or happened to be on a diet, and you are about to dine out at your favorite restaurant, don’t automatically turn to the salad menu! Turns out, restaurant salads can often be as bad as—or worse than—any other fatty dish on the menu! Sure, salads may contain some fresh & healthy produce base, but those leafy greens are normally weighed down with cheese, deep fried croutons, and high-calorie dressings. In fact, one salad from a popular chain restaurant may contains over 1,500 calories and too much fut!

These are some manue secrets you need to know:

  • Anytime you see the words “Parmesans-Crusted,” or “Orange Glazed” assume the dish has been slathered in sugar or cheese, had given a frying treatment and probably contain nearly a full day’s worth of sodium and half a day’s worth of calories!

  • In Mexican restaurants, salads are mostly the absolute worst choice from the menu. For example, with burritos and tacos, the amount of high-fat, high-calorie fillers is limited to what will fit in the shells! pay attention!

  • The top word you should be careful about is the mighty Caesar. Regular restaraunt`s Caesar dressing is normally loaded with many grams of fat and is very high in calories, combine it with cheese and croutons and you turn your light, healthy salad to a complete diet disaster! always ask for a low fat or fat-free dressing!

Good Luck!

My Super White Secret for Healthy White Teeth:

December 05, 2009 By: Heiley G. Category: Beauty Secrets, Health Benefits

White healthy teeth

Inspired by my dad, which still has his entire beautiful teeth at the age of 68, I`v learn this very important secret as a diet coke lover. First, I`d like you to ask yourself, and try to be honest- Do you drink carbonated drinks? do you drink a lot of them? how exactly do you drink them? mmm… interested questions, right? The reason you should care for your answers to these questions has to deal with keeping your teeth from the “not so healthy” acids they contain. Whether you drink a lot of those drinks or not, always use a STRAW in order to avoid direct acids contact with your teeth! This is how I make sure my teeth stays white and healthy for the long term!

The Healthy Secret to Start my Day:

December 04, 2009 By: Heiley G. Category: Health Benefits, Weight watcher`s lifestyle

natural_healthy_self_making_cleanserMany of us do not take it too seriously if we don`t give the restrooms a visit at least once a day! It is very significant since our body should get ride of its dirt every day in order to prevent unnecessary gas problems, stomach ache, flatulence, the risk of hemorrhoids and many other health problems!
I was recommended by a nutritionist to mix half a glass of room temperature water with a half lemon freshly sqeezed juice and one spoon of olive oil then drink it on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning. This healthy “system cleanser”, as I call it, works like magic! so simple and so natural- try it yourself and you`d see how lighter and more comfortable you feel everyday, once you start drinking this healing mixture!

Zero Fat isn`t always Non Fat:

November 01, 2009 By: Heiley G. Category: Health Benefits, Weight watcher`s lifestyle

groceries_smart_shoppingSupermarkets shelves are loaded with products claiming to contain 0 trans fat.  However, what many of us are not aware of is that this “zero” on labels isn’t necessarily a REAL Zero! Since according to the FDA trans fat labeling rulesand guideline, products may contain up to 0.5 grams of trans fat per serving in order to be claimed as “Zero” trans fat on their label. Companies are simply taking advantage of these regulations which results in deceiving us, the consumers!
Before you purchase your next box of crackers, cookies or any other product with a “zero trans fat” or “trans fat free” labels, take a look at the ingredients list. Be aware that labels don’t always tell the full story and try to pay attention to the nutrition facts which are normally located at the back of the product, in smaller fonts. That would tell you if the “Zero” is a real non-fat or maybe it is 0.3 or 0.4 grams of trans fat!  The reason this is so important is since the recommended daily limit of trans fat we should consume is 2 grams only! (about %1 of the daily calories, based on an 2,000 calorie diet). Just one of these so-called “zero grams trans fat” servings at each meal could easily adds up, therefore- Awareness please!!!
