Zero Fat isn`t always Non Fat:

November 01, 2009 By: Keila G. Category: Health Benefits, Weight watcher`s lifestyle

groceries_smart_shoppingSupermarkets shelves are loaded with products claiming to contain 0 trans fat.  However, what many of us are not aware of is that this “zero” on labels isn’t necessarily a REAL Zero! Since according to the FDA trans fat labeling rulesand guideline, products may contain up to 0.5 grams of trans fat per serving in order to be claimed as “Zero” trans fat on their label. Companies are simply taking advantage of these regulations which results in deceiving us, the consumers!
Before you purchase your next box of crackers, cookies or any other product with a “zero trans fat” or “trans fat free” labels, take a look at the ingredients list. Be aware that labels don’t always tell the full story and try to pay attention to the nutrition facts which are normally located at the back of the product, in smaller fonts. That would tell you if the “Zero” is a real non-fat or maybe it is 0.3 or 0.4 grams of trans fat!  The reason this is so important is since the recommended daily limit of trans fat we should consume is 2 grams only! (about %1 of the daily calories, based on an 2,000 calorie diet). Just one of these so-called “zero grams trans fat” servings at each meal could easily adds up, therefore- Awareness please!!!

Nutritionists Healthy Rule: Eat More Fish!

October 17, 2009 By: Keila G. Category: Diet Secrets, Health Benefits, Healthy Recipes, Weight watcher`s lifestyle

healthy_fish_eating

Healthy diets almost always contain fish, which have fewer calories and higher nutrition values than other meat sources. It’s also one of nature’s most versatile foods – can be steamed, baked, fried or poached and even great as raw, in the form of sashimi.
Many health institutes recommend eating up to two portions of fish a week, based on several different studies. Eating fish could lowers the risk of death from heart disease by 36 per cent, thanks to the oils in fish, that appear to reduce stickiness of blood, therefore can prevent it from clotting. Fish also contains selenium which thought to have cancer-fighting properties plus omega-3 fatty acids which are believed to raise levels of the brain chemical- Serotonin, which aids in reducing depression. Omega 3 regulate the body’s inflammation cycle as well, which prevents and relieves painful conditions like arthritis and cystitis.
One of the benefits I like the most, from eating fish, is its ability of reducing signs of age! Some dermatologists say that a fish rich diet acts like a facial smoothing-out age lines.

Recommended fish: Salmon, Trout, Sardines and Tuna:

Eva Longoria Emotional Health Beauty Secret:

October 07, 2009 By: Keila G. Category: Beauty Secrets, Celebrities Secrets, Health Benefits

The beautiful, sexy “Desperate Housewife”, Eva Longoria, has recently revealed a very interesting beauty secret to Parade Magazine. “I think it’s a combination of a lot of things however it’s obviously emotional health  ”  Answerd Longoria to the question of how she maintains her beautiful, young looking skin and what does she think effects it the most. “Your body is a vehicle of your emotions and a vehicle of feelings and a vehicle of whatever you need to get done in life. And you’ve got to take care of that vehicle.” Add Longoria to her answer.

Interesting state of mind, I though to myself, plus we already know Drew Barrymore`s opinion is very similar so then honestly- I couldn’t agree more with both of these really good looking celebs!

Emotional Health is  basically a positive state of mind engendering a sense of well being that enables a person to function effectively. People with good emotional health are aware of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. They have learned healthy ways to cope with the stress and problems that are a normal part of life. They feel good about themselves and their lives,  enjoy what they do for living or/and have healthy relationships. From my personal experience I recommend trying to take things more easy, even if its hard. Cheer yourself up whenever you`re down. Smile with no reason and laugh! laugh harder and more often! There are many health benefits behind laughing which are definitely effecting our emotional wellness and skin beauty, so then I would simply force myself to laugh more if it doesn’t come naturally!  Wish for healthy relationship with your spouse or try to heal them if they`r not. Your emotions effect your beauty directly, no doubt, and it is time to take action and make sure you stay positive and healthy at all times!
